On Tuesday you asked if we have the courage to act on climate before it is too late. I believe we do. I am standing with you and will do what I can to fight climate change.
I encourage you to push for the strongest possible policies to reduce carbon pollution, and stand strong against attacks from polluting interests and their allies.
I want you to acknowledge that hydrofractured gas is part of that polluting group of fossil-fuel industries; and nuclear, while appearing clean at the plant site, has a tail of affected places at and around uranium mines, leaks radioactivity continually, and creates waste that lasts almost beyond imagining.
Nevertheless, you made a good statement—and I expect more. I hope that I have indeed seen the return of the candidate for whom I voted in 2008, and who was nowhere to be found in 2012. Thank you for your renewed leadership; I look forward to working with you for a strong program to protect future generations from climate change.
